Writing without light


Writing without light is a disordering of the image. Using the source code for a significant photograph, language is broken down and reassembled in a new poetic mode.

The work is about the subtext of every image, the origins of writing and using the virtual as material.

About the Artist

Rowan Lear is an artist, writer and curator based in Bristol, working at the intersection of image and language, politics and photography.
